Your electrician connects the docking station indoors or outdoors and can then plug in the wallbox with just one click. This way, you can also prepare to connect a wallbox if you don't drive an electric car yet.

Why should I charge at home with a wallbox?
A major advantage of electromobility is the ability to use longer downtimes to charge the battery. With your own wallbox, charging at home is particularly convenient, although there are various functions that can bring further advantages. You can conveniently charge your vehicle overnight and start in the morning with a full battery. Compared to charging via a normal socket, a wallbox is not only faster, but also safer and more cost-effective in the long term. In combination with your own PV system, you can save even more if you can charge with free solar power.
11 kW or 22 kW EV charger?
The choice between an 11 kW and a 22 kW wallbox depends mainly on your vehicle, although most vehicles can only charge at 11 kW at an AC charging station. Our home charging products offer both variants. The charging capacity of the domestic AC wallboxes differs greatly from the public DC fast chargers, where you can charge the car significantly faster with a charging capacity of up to 240 kW. This is particularly relevant if you do not want to be parked for long periods.
With or without charging cable?
You can purchase our DaheimLader EV chargers with or without a permanently attached charging cable. If you choose a DaheimLader with a fixed cable, you have the option of a 5m or 7.5m cable length. This cable is permanently attached, ensuring it’s always ready for use. When not in use, you can simply wrap it around the EV charger for convenient storage. Our EV chargers without a fixed cable feature a charging socket on the side, allowing you to connect an external charging cable — just like at public AC charging stations. External charging cables, available in lengths of up to 15m, can also be found in our online shop.
What else do I need to pay attention to?
A good wallbox is characterized by various factors. Intelligent functions such as app control, charging analysis and multi-user capability are important aspects. Cable length, operating options, high-quality workmanship and installation conditions also play an important role.
Before you buy a wallbox, you should consider what you want to use it for. If, for example, you want to bill your company car, make the wallbox available to your tenants or employees, or use the charging station for commercial purposes, an MID-compliant electricity meter is essential. If your wallbox is publicly accessible, it should have authentication methods such as RFID cards or app control. Also consider how you park your car and how far your car's charging flap is from the wallbox in order to choose the right cable length. Or you can order a wallbox without a charging cable and plug in your own charging cable. As of January 1, 2024, 22 kW wallboxes no longer require approval, but must be controllable. All DaheimLader are compatible with Section 14a EnWG.
