Setting Up Charging Rules with Click2Charge

With Click2Charge, you can establish charging rules for your DaheimLader EV charger, ensuring that your car charges exactly as you prefer. Simply set your preferences once, and the system takes care of the rest. You can choose from three modes:

  1. SmartCharge:Automatically optimizes the charging process for lower costs (if you have a dynamic electricity tariff) and/or greater environmental benefits.

  2. Scheduled Charging:Ensures charging always starts and ends at the times you specify.

  3. Instant Charging:Begins charging immediately once you plug in the cable.

How to Configure Charging Rules

You’ll find the charging rules in your charging station’s settings. To access them:

  • Tap on the gear icon associated with your charging station.

  • Ensure that the access settings are set to “Private.”

  • Select “Charging Rules” from the menu.

From there, you can add and customize a rule to suit your needs. You can also deactivate, modify, or adjust existing rules in the same menu.

Detailed Mode Descriptions

  • SmartCharge:If you’d like every charging session to start using SmartCharge settings, select SmartCharge from the charging rules menu.

    • To activate SmartCharge, go to Access Settings, tap Private, and enable SmartCharge using the toggle.

    • Once enabled, you can adjust when the charging should begin, when it should be completed, and how much energy should be delivered.

  • Scheduled Charging:Set a timer so that charging sessions automatically start and stop at your chosen times. This is ideal if you want to align charging with off-peak electricity rates or a preferred schedule.

  • Instant Charging:This mode initiates charging immediately once the cable is plugged in—no further steps required.

Important Tips and Notes

  • Tip: To ensure the charging rules run smoothly, deactivate any conflicting settings—such as those configured in your vehicle.

  • Note: When a charging rule is active, it automatically triggers as soon as a vehicle is connected. However, this means different users or vehicles cannot be distinguished.

  • Notification Support: If you have push notifications enabled, the app will notify you when a charging rule is executed.

If you need to charge multiple vehicles at the same station and evaluate them separately, it’s best to avoid using the charging rule feature in its current form.

*Push notifications must be enabled for this.
